Hi, I'm Deana Paqua, thanks for visiting my website. I hope that you will find your visit inspirational, interesting and fun. I specialize in helping people relieve pain, release emotional patterns and negativity from their bodies and spirits, and experience a greater sense of mental calm and a more profound spiritual connection through healing touch. I incorporate gentle but powerful techniques that include therapeutic massage, energy balancing and "self-health tools," to provide pain relief, help the body recover faster, calm the nerves and neutralize painful and frightening memories, improve sleep, balance energy, and enhance spirituality. The work I do with people can also help provide a connection to whatever needs healing, whether it's body, mind, spirit or all of the above, without drugs or needles. Many of the people I work with generally have been through some difficult or traumatic experience, have often experienced conventional treatment, and are looking for other ways to heal and are open to trying something different.
All of our life experiences, good and bad are "coded" into our bodies. That means even if we're not consciously thinking about something that happened to us, or even remember it, our body does. It remembers everything. These experiences become encoded in our nervous systems, muscles, minds and spirits. And that's fine when we're talking about the good stuff. But when it's not so good, or even horrible, these memories or patterns can continue to haunt us until we do something to release them. And this often may involve more than just talking about them. These experiences might show up as specific memories which cause us anxiety, as pain which may even seem unrelated, and as the ground work for a variety of dis-ease states.
Massage therapy, energy healing, and self-health tools such as emotional freedom techniques help address these experiences, patterns and traumas directly, without someone always having to relive, remember or re-experience a painful event. These therapies then help to relieve the related physical and emotional pain, improve the overall healing process, and provide a way to ease stress and access greater spiritual awareness.
I use these techniques because in general, they are gentle, support other therapies and techniques, and they worked for me, and thousands of others.
Deana's
energy work is gifted. I walked into her session in one frame of mind,
and left in a frame of mind you could not have convinced me I was going
to be able to achieve.
I was relaxed, refreshed, invigorated and at peace.

I understand, because I've been there myself. Before I continue, I would like to tell you a little more about my own story.
Ten years ago, I was in a very serious car accident. I shattered both femurs, broke my rib cage, collapsed both lungs, and lacerated my liver and other internal organs. Not to mention bruising almost every inch of my body, wrenching my back, and snapping my neck in classic whiplash fashion. Click here to see pictures from my accident.
Doctors told my family it wasn't looking like I would make it. But I knew I would, and that I would be OK. For some reason, I connected with a source greater than myself, that I call God, and asked for help. Because boy did I need it! I immediately felt this certainty that no matter what, that I would be fine. And through every step of the healing process I felt supported and guided to find just the right doctors, therapists, healers and techniques to help me heal really fast, and deeper than I ever would have expected. I left the hospital after only two and a half weeks, and even returned to work after just three and a half months. Some of that time was spent in a wheel chair, recovering from three intense surgeries, and learning to walk again. Doctors, nurses, therapists and not to mention my friends and family were all shocked and surprised by how fast I got better. I was determined to get my life back "just the way it was before." Little did I know, that even though I was healing with almost lightening speed, there was no going back to the way things were before.
Really, there is no going back after such a life-altering event. However, I have found through this powerful journey that life is even better than it was before. I have had the opportunity to face intense pain, fear, doubt, anger, frustration, and uncertainty on a grand scale, and survive. So I now definitely have more confidence, less fear, and more faith in the grander plan than I ever did before (though watching the news makes me question that, so I don't watch it, unless it's John Stewart's Daily Show on Comedy Central).
My main goal after getting through the most demanding aspects of my own recovery was to be able to help others who had been through something similar. It was something that kept me going, even through the most difficult times.
I also believe that the best healer for us, is ourselves. Having a positive attitude and a belief that one can get "well" or feel better is the most important part of the equation, in addition to working with qualified health care professionals. I work with clients in many different ways. I provide individual hands on sessions, phone sessions, and group classes. In addition to hands-on treatments, such as massage and energy balancing and shamanic healing, I also teach people how to help themselves through self-health tools, such as energy exercises, stretching, and visualizations and by encouraging clients to ask questions and do their own research.

Feel free to send me an e-mail or call me for more information about my work and how I can help you heal trauma and transform your life.
In addition to the work that I do, I believe in a holistic, truly integrated approach to healing. If you have any questions about what therapies or techniques are best for you, contact your physician to ensure that what you would like to do is not contraindicated for your condition. Shamanic and energy healing techniques, including Reiki, Integrated Energy Therapy®, Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), Reconnective Healing® and the Reconnection® are very gentle and non-invasive, and can provide assistance for almost any condition. Feel free to contact me with questions.
I've also posted my favorite health-related products, books and other life-enhancing items in the products section. A great and growing resource area to investigate both conventional and complementary therapies for trauma recovery, and health and wellness is the resources page. Check back often for updates to this area.
